Nearly 300 cases are discussed or at least mentioned in this way. They were selected from international jurisprudence and cases decided by the CE, US and German courts (and the courts of ten other countries), as well as by the ICC, ICSID and other arbitral tribunals. The introductory notes and summaries of the various parts and chapters integrate economic and political theory and provide the common thread. This study takes note of this new and additional function of business law. The first part examines the conception of business law by States, by companies and by international and supranational organizations. Part II deals with some of the most important rules of substantive economic law, divided into chapters on procurement law, transaction law and property law, and Part III deals with key issues of enforcement by the executive on the one hand and by judicial and arbitral tribunals on the other.
